WORLD ASSOCIATION OF AGRONOMISTS (AMIA)

The World Association of Agronomists was founded on 8 September 1994, in Santiago de Chile, by representatives of agronomists’ associations from 30 countries around the world and tens of delegated agronomists.

It is an international, non-governmental, non-political, non-racial, non-religious and non-profit organization run entirely by agronomist engineers.

The main objectives of the Association are to unify, represent and coordinate agronomists from all over the world, defend and/or establish their rights and promote the prestige of the profession, as well as to favour the equal rights of all its members and encourage the establishment of academic excellence and professional ethics.

The AMIA has also been set up as a high-level technical forum which aims to promote the socio-economic development of the rural sector and ensure the adequate feeding of humanity and the preservation and monitoring of natural resources and the environment.




MINISTRY OF
THE ENVIRONMENT AND RURAL AND MARINE AFFAIRS

The Ministry of the Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs is the General State Government department in charge of proposing and carrying out the Government’s general guidelines on the agriculture, fisheries and food policy.

The Ministry is also the body which represents the Spanish Government in this field in the European and international sphere.




THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION O AGRICULTURA ENGINEERS (ANIA)


The National Association of Agricultural Engineers (ANIA), with more than 100 years of history, is the oldest collective body representing Agricultural Engineers in Spain.

Part of the Engineering Institute of Spain and in close collaboration with the General Board of Official Agricultural Engineer Associations, its purpose is to promote the moral, social and technical prestige of its members, collaborating with public authorities to contribute to the advance of technologies linked to agriculture, livestock farming and connected and derived industries.

Its aims include promoting training and encouraging the technical and professional education that enables its members to achieve the highest possible levels in their areas of activity.

In order to achieve its goals ANIA organizers and takes part in congress, conferences seminars and scientific gatherings, etc and all types of activities in general that encourage the exchange of knowledge relating to the profession.

Agricultural Engineers are Senior Engineers specifically trained to make rational and sustainable use of the natural, plant and animal resources consumed by man, either directly, or following processing.




OFFICIAL ASSOCIATION OF AGRONOMISTS OF CENTRAL SPAIN AND THE CANCARY ISLANDS

The Official Association of Agricultural Engineers of Central Spain and the Canary Islands was established 1953. Among other functions, the Association defends the professional interests of the members and acts as its sole representative.

The Association’s territorial scope covers the provinces of Ávila, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Las Palmas de Gran Canarias, Madrid, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Segovia, Soria and Toledo. The association has nearly 2,500 members.
